Emma's 1 year old

Emma's 1!!!!

Who knew time could fly so fast. It seems like yesterday when she was born. Last year on Labor Day I was in the hospital with my 1 day old baby girl. This year we went swimming at in-laws house and ate great food!

Here's a quick picture recap on what happened on Emma's b-day, Aug, 31, 2009.

Aug 28 7:00 pm

Gramma K arrives and surprises us all! She decided that morning to fly in to visit her grand babies and their parents :) hehe. She spent the whole weekend with us. We had a great time.

After she arrived, we went out to eat at a restaurant with Morgan's parents and sister, Morgan and I, and Abby and Emma. We had a great time visiting.

On Saturday, we spent the morning cleaning house (getting ready for the party) and the afternoon was spent shopping w/ my mom and the girls. We had a great time. Thanks mom for everything! We also went out to eat to celebrate Emma's b-day while my mom was in town. We went to Rosa's (yummm). I also had time to bake the cake and cup cakes. (I can't believe I didn't get a good close up picture of the cupcakes and cake. Arrrrrrgh. So frustrating.

Sunday was spent getting ready for church, going to church, last minute clean-up and saying farewell to my mom. Emma also got to open some gifts from Gramma K. She got a dress (see pics below), baby doll, a cute metal purse, and sunglasses. Of course she wouldn't keep the sunglasses on for a cute picture. :(

Around 5:30 everyone started showing up for the party. Guests included Grandma & Grandpa McCain, Aunt Melanie, Uncle Mark and Aunt Carla & kids, Uncle Matt and Aunt Karen & kids, Jaime, and of course mommy & daddy and Abby.

We ate cake, opened presents, and played with all the toys. We all had a great time!

Emma had fun eating her cake.
So messy!

She didn't understand the concept of opening gifts. She had to be persuaded.
Her pink horse is one of the many fun gifts she received.
Big sister wanted to help every step of the way. All the cousins chipped in, too.
Pretty eventful for a 1 yr old!
